An Early Mother's Day Surprise for Grammie

I have wanted to take my Mom to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point for years. I was finally able to pull it off today. The weather was nice and it was my day off. Mom was feeling good today and was up for an outing, so the timing was right. It was breathtakingly beautiful and everything I hoped it would be. Happy Mother's Day Mom!

The color combinations were amazingly beautiful

Row, Row ,Row Your Boat

The first river trip in the spring can be in any kind of weather. We heard some horror stories of rain, wind, cold temp when you just freeze and the fun is minimal. We all brought wet suites and rain gear to keep us dry and warm. You basically just layer everything. The water is extremely cold, so you don't want to end up in it. We had a great day on the river then went to Moab for the night. We did a little hiking at Delicate Arch in Arches National Park.
Cynthia has the exact opposite picture of me.
Trent and Kalli
It was a perfect day to be on the river.
The real fun stuff is just beyond those rocks. You can see it starting to ripple. There are some big rocks to navigate around. It's a total blast!
Mike took a turn rowing while Cynthia, Chris & Trent enjoyed the ride.

Kalli and Tyler are just enjoying the ride & the sun.
Tyler rowed most of the day. He's a good boatman. Chris handled the big rapids just encase we turned over!

Easter Weekend at San Rafael Swell, Utah

A beautiful sunset the night we arrived. Storm clouds were just about to bust open.
Me, Kevin & Kalli at the Black Dragon Canyon look out.....very cold and windy!

You have to look hard but you can see that the boys discovered a new way to avoid nasty smoke in your eyes while enjoying a nice fire......goggles

Kevin hasn't been out with us for a long time and it was so fun to have him there!

We saw all kinds of weather this weekend.....rain....snow.....hail....sunshine

Easter morning just isn't the same when your kids are older. BUT they still look for the candy basket!
