A Poem for the Young Women

Young Woman

I want to know when I make my pledge
The message behind every word that is said
I am His daughter, a gift from above
Listening and learning, trusting His love
Striving to live my values with pride
Constantly seeking His light by my side
Praying with faith to know who I am
Gaining the strength to follow His plan
Keeping my thoughts and actions more pure
Having the courage to live, not endure
When I think of the future, my choices aren't simple
The covenience I'll make when I enter God's temple
I will stand as a witness, every chance that I get
Keep my slate clean to avoid a regret
In preparing I take life one day at a time
Reminded that agency makes the choice mine

This year was my 18th year going to Girl's Camp. Each year I have been faced with the task of coming up with a meaningful theme. I spent a lot of time asking the Lord's guidence this year, on the direction I should take camp in. The theme clearly came to me one morning " Say Yes". There are so many things that are youth are told to say NO to. It is hard sometimes to see that there really is so much more we can " Say Yes" to. I chose Faith, Happiness, Virtue, Friendship, Integrity, Light, & Modesty. Camp went well. No " Drama". I gave each girl a copy of this peom.
