Moments That Took My Breath Away

I love to be outdoors. I love the mountains almost as much as I love the beach. I feel so small when I am there. Heavenly Father has given us such beauty to surround us. All to often we are to busy to see it.

I Can Only Imagine
Song by: Merceme

I can only imagine What it will be like When I walk By your side I can only imagine What my eyes will see When your face Is before me I can only imagine [Chorus:]Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all I can only imagine I can only imagine When that day comes And I find myself Standing in the Son I can only imagine When all I will do Is forever Forever worship You I can only imagine[Chorus]I can only imagine [x2]I can only imagineWhen all I will do Is forever, forever worship you

About Me

I got to thinking one day about how well my kids actually knew me. If you were to ask them, "What are your Mom's favorite things" the answers would very greatly with the girls coming in the closest. Now if the boys have been paying attention through the years they should do alright as well. Well they are boys so who knows? Anyway, I thought I would write some things down kind of like a journal entry ,but more like a poem. Here goes !

These Are a Few of Mom's Favorite Things
The ocean, sand , shells and surf are the things that I love most on earth.
Blue crystal skies, white clouds that are high, shapes that form above.
New blossoms in spring, a child on a swing, dark chocolate that's known as dove.
Grass that is green, when dishes are clean, a call from a friend that I love.
Meadows on high, eagles that fly, holding hands on a walk with my guy.
Babies to hold, make a scarf for the cold, dance like I'm sixteen not old.
A ride on the bike with my hubby named Mike. A sunset that welcomes the night.
I like to drive fast, to make memories that last, music that makes me cry.
Having lunch with the girls, Rubies and Pearls, pants that fit the first try.
Stars that are bright, the warmth of sunlight, the smell of hot pumpkin pie.
Flowers are best, to garden's a test, ours usually slides with a " B ".
The boys make me laugh, a hot bubble bath, a nap outdoors in the breeze.
Reminiscing with Mom, sewing dresses for prom, a dip in the pool, yes please.
I wanted to share these moments so rare, Oh! Just remembered that I hate to fly.
Is there more maybe so , but for now I must go, for time is passing me by.

East Canyon Weekend For Mike, Shelly & Kalli

Yes I was there, who do you think is behind the camera? It was really nice up there. It was 82 on Sunday. Which is weird because the canyon is still closed coming up from Lambs Canyon in Parley's due to snow. Do you see any snow? Me either. We had to drive up and around Echo Res. and go through Henefer.

The State Track Meet 2008

This is Chad with Karen Walker playing croquet. Karen is Cynthia Menlove Walkers daughter. ( for family info)

Last weekend was the state meet for Chad. He was there for the social life more than anything else. He and the entire Bingham team sure know how to enjoy all the waiting that goes on at such a large event. They built what they call a tent city. Complete with music, sleeping bags, sun umbrellas and a croquet course.

Pictures Of The Kids When We Moved In-2000

Happy freckled face kid.

Pooka shells and braces. High fashion always.

I don't think Kevin wore his hair this short on his mission.

Kimber will like my choice of photos.

Eight Years in So Jo

This month we celebrate our eighth year in our home in South Jordan. We have loved our home and the view from the balcony. That was one of the best ideas I have ever had. We planted the garden yesterday . Mike just finished our fire pit in the back yard and we are excited to build a big ol fire. At least Kalli is. With the exception of a little cement work we are finished with all landscaping. Hooray! Mike has worked his butt off on the yard. He is amazing. We have made good friends in this neighborhood and plan to stay a good long time.

A Poem about Motherhood

Wrap your babe in warmth and love

For she is sent from heav'n above

Her sweet smile will brighten your days

Your life will change in so many ways

You will be blessed through each new year

Although sometimes you'll shed a tear

For life goes quickly and time does pass

So make your memories the ones that last

Hold him close and watch him grow

Your heart will swell and overflow

The bad days are few

And what's left are the good

So, enjoy your life of Motherhood

Chad and the High Jump

Last week Chad took 1st place in the Regional Track Meet. He goes to State at BYU this weekend. Good Luck.

The Best Place to Work

I have worked many places in my life. For the past 12 years I have been employed by Hansen Classics. Florence P. Hansen is a sculptor with an amazing talent in creating works of art from her every day relationships with family and friends. These tender moments captured in porcelain actually touch the heart deeply. I have the honor daily to hear personal stories from people who give her sculptures as gifts. I have the best job ever!

Check out our website: http://www.hansenclassics.com/

Got to love the white socks! We look about 60 years old in this picture. Old duffers on vacation. We actually came here 26 years ago on a trip with Mike's family when we had been married 3 weeks. That's a whole other story.

Chad has really been working out this year. He is incredibly strong.

That Girl Can Sure Climb

Chad is very proud of this awesome picture he took on top of this cliff, ledge, mountain thing!
Kimber and Jason were able to join us. It was really fun hanging out together. This is taken at Goblin Valley.

Easter Weekend in Green River and Goblin Valley . Random shots of us playing around.

This is a cool picture of Chad.

Here we go !

I can think of a million reasons not to do this and only a few reasons to press on. In an effort to try new things I am giving blogging a go. Hopefully this will end up more a journal, than anything else.
Today is Mother's Day, my most dreaded day of the year. I get an awkward feeling when someone says Happy Mother's Day to me. I'm not sure what my answer should really be to that. Are they asking me "if" I' m happy today? Are they telling me I am good at being a Mother? Are they insinuating that because I am a Mother; today will be ten times better than yesterday was. For me it is a pressure filled day of mixed emotions. I would like to know who voted for it to be on a Sunday anyway ! For those of us who go to church on Sunday, we never get to go to a cool Mother's Day Brunch at a fancy hotel. What we do get to do is listen to several talks of saintly mothers over the pulpit. They make me think only of ALL my short comings as a wife and mother.
I think there are actually several times a week, month , year that I feel special in the sight of my family. These moments mean so much more to me when I pick them out randomly and say " Today was the best Mothers Day ever". They are personal and private to me and I am grateful for ever moment I have spent as a Mother.
